Canada’s Retail Execs Have A Tidy Payday

By admin | May 30, 2011

There was an interesting compensation survey in Monday’s Globe & Mail that showed the top paid executives at Canada’s largest corporations (by market capitalization).

Several executives at Canadian retailers made the cut with some rather big paydays given the tight operating margins of the retail trade.

Below are the retail executives that appeared in the survey:

#40 – Stephen Wetmore, Canadian Tire Corp. Ltd. – $6,959,544

#64 – Galen G. Weston, Loblaw Cos. Ltd. – $3,913,407

#73 – Jurgen Schreiber, Shoppers Drug Mart Corp. – $3,275,807

#76 – Eric La Fleche, Metro Inc. – $3,103,644

#87 – Alain Bouchard, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. – $2,271,862

#97 – Paul Sobey, Empire Co. Ltd. – $1,815,888
